Never really was a fan of honey UNTIL 2011 when I had my first 8lbs from a nuc I got last July. Lovely smooth stuff, been eating it all winter, on my cereal, on toast, in coffee, delicious stuff, couldn't pass a jar without sticking my finger in it. Ran out 6 weeks ago, and every time I check my supers bees have yet to cap it(really I think they are eating it because it's always raining here)
Anyway, was in supermarket tonight and noticed they has "rolled back" the price of Australian honey by big name supplier. Thought it might fill the gap till ( if) I get some of my own.

Yuk! tastes just like golden syrup to me. If I get a harvest this year I will have no problem selling it for top dollar as for me there is no comparison.

My apiary is on a cliff on the Antrim coast road, lots of bramble, wild fushia, weeds / wild flowers etc. Anyone try to extract different honeys at different times of year?

Hi bcb, so you have tasted the good stuff and there is no going back....
How many supers do you have on at the mo? Sounds like an unusual site, what about a pic? The way things are looking this year, beekeepers would do well to get any take off, let alone 2 or 3 takes off! yes some people would move hives to heather and such like. Would be interesting to hear whether as many as usual are/did do that this year?
