Has anyone tried making their own swarm lure paste?

I am curious to see whether this a better/stronger attractor than just lemon grass oil?

On a blog it mentioned about mixing some olive oil with some old comb/foundation and 20 drops of lemon grass oil.

I've placed just the oil in my traps but to no avail as of yet.

I am about to place some more swarm traps around my field and garden by making them from large inverted flower pots.

Views and opinions would be appreciated.

Regards

Lemon grass has worked well for me. But if you want to have a special paste i would mix in one crushed queen to addition to all your ingredients.

there is a story about a beekeeper who crushed all the queens he didnt need on certain fence post and most of the swarms he had were clustering onto that post. here you go.

Lauri :)

Old mated mated ex-laying queens?

Or virgin queens scavenged from unwanted queen cells?
