Looking towards next year, my stock of frames needs replenishing. Is ot best to buy now in that autumn of wait for spring sales.
Thornes are selling packs of 50 SN4 or DN4 seconds for £32.
Any advice?

they won't be any cheaper in the spring sales, in fact they may go up in price.
Maisemores also have a sale on, their DN4 frames are only £30.00 for 50, no difference in the quality generally although I've always preferred Maisies.
and by getting them now you have the whole winter to put them together.

You might like to hold your horses and make a decision later this weekend. Watch the advertising banners at the top of the page.

Good advice. As part of the Christmas day games, I can organise a "who can build a frame the fastest" competition.

Is your local A&E not that busy on Christmas Day then?

LOL.....had some frames..supposedly firsts..from a UK maker but had hard grain and some hard secure little knots in them. Bradder gun using 38mm 18g brads...struck a hard knot, shot out the ide..right into the knuckle of my left index finger. Bad enough to actually prevent the outflow of expletives had it been less sore. Nobody here to help so had to pull the frame nail out of my finger with a set of pliars. Fortunately did not go septic so was back at the same job in a couple of days.

Then my most stupid of all...because I have done it more than once.....is stapling my own jumper to my belly when the hand stapler jammed...then unjammed at an unexpected moment.

I had a habit of pushing the end of my stapler to try and un jam it, I think I stapled both of my thumbs together three times before I learnt.....had to pull them out with my teeth.

If you put a frame nail into your stomach does that count as a staple diet?
