My eight frame Drill driven Giordan takes 2

That's a bit pricier than I was hoping for, but I guess if I want to go down the 14x12 route that's the price to pay...
I guess I'll have to first see if one of those available as the local BKA can take them should I need to.

Hi Millet,
I have the very same extractor.

With careful placement in the cage, you can get 8 frames in a radial configuration - makes extracting much easier.

I thought I might have to fabricate something to do it, but if you put 4 frames radially with the top bars into the corners of the cage first, then you can wedge another 4 with their tops in the centre of the flat section. When spinning, the rotational force holds them all in place.

PS. but don't tell the seller that it's an 8 frame radial and not a 4 frame tangential - they'll put the price up!

try Mannie lake - their radials looked a lot bigger than they needed to be for National shallows - yo might get lucky

Just curious, could the one Millet has bought be converted to drill driven?

Yes easily but depending on what drill you use care must be taken when slowing down, DO NOT stop the power instant, slow down gradually or you could injure your wrist.

With the easiest of modifications them frames could be placed inside secure, when my right arm is fixed i will have a play and fire my ideas over.
ps. this could be a money making scam for someone, buy a load and convert them,

Thanks for the pointer, but it seems like Mann Lake's extractor will not take 14x12s if not maybe the larger (more expensive) ones.
I'll keep looking, and if I can't fine one, I'll find a way...

i have a 4 frame radial from park beeking supplies blackheath london (electric £600, the manual is £350 and a two 14x12 frame radial extra cage (£60 ish for cage) that fits the same shell. they also do a four frame radial cage that extract commercial and national brood

MM I can't see anywhere on their site that they do an extractor which takes brood radially. Am I missing one?

That's what I initially thought, but having done a couple of extracting sessions with it, modifications are unnecessary. Just position the frames radially and they stay in place and extract well as it is.
