Hi,

I'm new to the forum but have been beekeeping for a few years. I have two hives with good strong colonies.

Does anyone have a list or a link to a list of flowering times for UK trees, hedgerows and flowers?

Many thanks in advance

Simon

Just remember it appears to be based on the US - so times and varieties are likely to be different.

And how many weeks squiffy it all is this year...!
ah but is it squiffy or is this a "normal" year. its not that long ago that i remember it was hard to get a daffodil for saint davids day. they are now well and truly out by that date, i wonder if the bees memories are as good as mine?

On that thread anyone got any ideas on bright yellow pollen every bee in my 4 colonies carrying it in?

I wondered if it might be a good nectar source as well

The rape around us is now mostly out of flower

Let's talk gorse...nectar? Pollen? Better than nothing? The books seem not to agree...(unusual don't you think? :biggrinjester:).

It's just that we have about three acres of the stuff due slashing/burning. To bee or not to bee, that is the question....

Gorse will flow in hot weather, a very distinct scent.

Whether the bees can reach it of course is another matter....

Don't know if bees can reach it but the flowers make lovely wine:drool5:
