I know you do not paint the inside of a hive but what could you use to treat the floor of a hive. I read somewhere that linseed oil could be used.
 
Cuprinol 5 year clear low odour wood preserver but again not on the inside.
 
I use masonry paint on my poly floors, even on the inside, as recommended my Mod*rn Beekeeping. Don't see why it shouldn't be OK for wooden floors too.

When I was on cedar equipment I used cuprinol clear, even on the inside of my solid floors.

I use linseed oil on all hive part s and have painted hives with bees in residence with no problems.
