Vaped the hives on Saturday gone... the results today has me very happy... i checked Five colonies today and here is the results.

Hive 1... B+H 1 varroa
Hive 2...D B 11 varroa
Hive 3... D B 9 varroa
HIVE 4...B+H 62 varroa
Hive 5... B+H 9 varroa

I have never seen such low numbers from a first treatment since keeping bees .... 62 maybe a bit high but normally the first drop is in the 200+ region... lets see what the second dose drops... if it is low again i may stop treatment and save my lungs ...:spy:

No sugar or alcohol washes needed here.. haha

Mine have been simular with virtually no mites dropping the most been on one hive 4 mites...

I did not count my mite drops this year as the mites disappeared as quickly as they fell by being removed by ants! I had a lot more than indicated by the forum members though and still falling.

Folks are not making their insert boards sticky. The insert boards I put in the hive with a 17% varroa infestation showed a handful of mites a week later after an OAV & Apivar. The boards weren't sticky. The debris must have been removed!
I estimated there were 5000-6000 mites in that colony.

I have done the same every year and this is the lowest drop to date.

Ceteris paribus, my ant population isn't. I think eyeman may be right! I had a good drop, but could not be bothered to count because of the inaccuracy caused by mites being removed.

No Ants here...;) ...and not much varroa by the look of things well apart from one colony but we always getting a problem one don't we..:spy:

Results of the mite drop from the second vape three days later.

Hive 1 B+H = 1 varroa
Hive 2 DB = 17 varroa
Hive 3 DB = 3 varroa
Hive 4 B+H = 78 varroa
Hive 5 B+H = 8 varroa

Is that three days of drop or a drop on the third day? Sorry for being thick...

Hive 2 DB 35 Varroa
Hive 3 DB 3 Varroa.
Hive 4 B+H 100+ Varroa.

Two colonies are dropping more than i would like to see after the third gassing but i will keep going till they are in single figures.
