empty queen cells

On making my inspection I have found sealed queen cells and removed some , on removal I discovered they were completely empty just a hollow shell What has happened ?? They are defiantly sealed cells
 
Bees will often seal queen cells back up - sometimes entombing a worker inside.

You would be able to tell if the cell has been resealed: the tip of the cell is weak where the emerging queen chewed round it. One that has been resealed just pops open with a bit of pressure from the corner of a hive tool.
 
Note the 'seal back up'in the post above, it does suggest you have had queen cells that have already produced virgins! Just in case you didn't realise!

I'm still trying to get used to who posts what where, eg. beginners or forum, but it would have been more helpful if I'd mentioned that, ta.
