I've had a swarm for just over a week and they seem busy drawing comb, collecting and storing pollen and nectar. I checked the hive today and spotted the queen but no eggs. Just been watching the hive and saw the queen disappearing inside and lots of drones flying around and going in and out. Do I presume she is/was a virgin?

Check again in a week's time - the answer should be clear then

Sounds likely to me- in which case beware inspecting/disturbing when she may be out on another flight.
