Thank you for the offer Tom. I am trying to gain insight in how other associations distribute their news, rather than the specific news itself.

We have the same problems getting articles and features from members as was mentioned above.

We generally don't get problems finding volunteers so long as we send the request by a single email. If we put it in a newsletter we get no-one.

The effective consensus from the responses posted seems to be to use email, and keep it succinct and to the point with a frequency of monthly or as required.
