Do you remove your watches and rings before going to the bees?

Having been a partner in Jewellry business for 15 to 20 years I am VERY familiar with them and have used them many times. Over here most independent jewellers seem to have them (certainly in our area).

Incidentally I have never seen one with a diamond blade merely "hacksaw" type steel after all gold and silver are fairly soft compared to steel.

If anyone ever has the misfortune to need a ring cut off and the person doing it moves to pull the ring off as soon as the ring is cut -STOP THEM.

I have seen very nasty cuts caused that way the ring ends need held in fine pliers and levered outwards (making the ring bigger) this does two things firstly it keeps any ragged ends away from the skin and makes the ring big enough to pass over the swelling without doing damage.

just had a look at a few photos and you are quite right its a saw blade not a diamond blade.
dont supose your firm would take on a trainee?

Take my sparkly earrings off but if I'm wearing pearl ones I don't bother. Did take a ring off when my finger got stung though in case of swelling.

Yep, rings off- and wish I had taken ear rings off too-
After putting 5 hives on a new site and releasing them I was chased across a field- they ignored the men although I had no perfume on. bees in my hair and I brushed them out- One diamond ear ring never seen again- :banghead:

I was once set upon by a couple of bees intent on stinging :) Ignored them as a normally do in these cases . One decided it would sting the inside of my ear . "Right Lady" "You've had it " I swiped the damned thing, dislodged my hearing aid, and knocked it in the long grass!!!!
I search for hours over a few days! Never found the damned thing . It cost be an arm and a leg to replace :)

Generally remove the watch.

Make a point of removing the ceremonial sword, epaulettes and the various gongs - some would think it a little ostentatious otherwise.

do you take of your rings and watches before going to the bees?

Had to send all my bling to cretinssellyourgoldhere.com and sent the dosh to Th$$ne's.

Seriously-
No watch, no shiny stuff.

The fire brigade are not impressed when they have to cut a ring off a finger swollen by a bee sting-Father was a station officer

I know, I know. I can't explain it either lol. Irrational :iagree:

Ahem! As someone who fainted having a piercing but doesn't worry about bee stings I think I'd better go off and reflect upon pots and kettles, eh? not worthy

Piercings can be addictive!
I have a granddaughter who started with one !
She is now afraid to pass a scrap yard in case the large magnet hoists her off her feet :(
I remind her that should all the various multiple holes ,elongate in the manner I've see amongst old ladies after a lifetime of wearing dangley ear rings, she will look like a latticed tart .
Response is ''
Too far ahead to register I'm afraid !

"she will look like a latticed tart ."

aside from the structural definition is there another meaning of "to lattice"? Is it something premiership footballers get up to in hotel rooms?

Yes they can! Although the trick is to use small, lightweight rings, not those big ones they use while it heals. Usually a brow ring will drag out or the body will push it out in a couple of years. I had my first one for 6 years, and only healed after I removed it because I had a baby and he kept trying to grab it when I picked him up lol. It stayed in because there was no weight to it, therefore it didn't drag on the skin. Small silver hoops are the best :)

Good maybe ? but best would be unspoiled as nature intended :)
In my humble opinion :)
