You are wrong, as you may see it in the first part of this movie, the hive box it's white because was never used and it's brand new .

The last ones are the old ones and previously used and they stood in the plain sun, rain and bad weather outside. I paited them with linseed oil.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linseed_oil

But because of the heat and the oil, the wood color turned brown.(I did not planed to make them brown but its ok I like them that way and in the future I will do the same to make the brown. )

I keep the beehive into the parrafin bath for about 10-15 minutes
