Guessing you didn't get a swarm?

No Swarm Robbo. Had a call from my NUC supplier the day after to say the bees were ready. I would not have turned the swarm away if it came but happy to have my Cornish Black Bees as planned. They are little beauties.

Hopefully we all have a great summer flow.

Is "The June Gap" a reality in Cornwall? or does it pass without notice?

Although the small amount of Bee Friendly plants we have sowed are not going to sustain a colony most are due to flower in June.

I suppose other peoples gardens are similar and will flower from June onwards.
So will there be a June Gap in Sunny Cornwall.

Starvation Alert

Had an email from the NBU re Starvation Alert now on.

I have also noted a couple of days ago that my hive is busting with Brood but very little stores so I have given them a hand with the rapid feeder.

So the so called 'June Gap' comes up for scrutiny again.:ohthedrama:

I haven't had a June gap but it's possible I might see an early July gap unless things change a bit :(
