LIke everything yes and no.
I learnt further north than I am now and it suited there to work to the 8, and oddly in NW Leicestershire it was the same. However further south again no doubt 7 works fine well. Trouble is it gets tempting to shrug and think well if there is no odds between 8 and 7 then there's not much odds at 6.... when in reality there is a big numerical difference in the colony.
