Hi All

This was my first foray into rendering, I had a years worth of assorted wax.

As advised on the forum I got dedicated pots sives etc from a charity shop, no loss of Brownie points!

However not sure I read anywhere about the clean up. I rendered in water, pouring result into a plastic tub.

Q. What is the best way to clean the the large metal pot which was used to render, as it’s left with a large covering of wax? Is there an easy way, or do you just leave it until the next brew up?

Place water in the pan, heat it up till wax melts, leave to cool, wax solidiifies on the top of the water. Knife round the edge, lift disc out and you can store it with the rest of your wax for you next stage of cleansing the wax.

I use a double boiler so the pan is warm as you pour it and there is not that much residue left in the pan.
