Ok, so I have built 2 good sturdy nuc boxes and was wondering if anyone knows where I can get my hands on some cheap aluminium sheet for the roof covering? Does anyone know of any suppliers for something like this?

Cheers

Offset prinhouses use. And I changed a bunch of sheets to honey jars.

Try your local scrap metal dealer, they do sell as well as buy, I used to buy lumps of brass, bronze etc for turning, they sold it by the scrap weight, much cheaper than suppliers

Find a local caravan / truck repair shop... you will be able to get a sheet at scrap value and if you smile nicely and promise a jar or two of honey... they may evet cut it for you !

If you know of any printers they use thin ally sheet and new or recycled they work great for a roof.

I'm another one for caravan sides. I have a mate who sold a caravan repair business a short while ago. I have a big roll of alloy sheet in the back of my garage. It's just 2 national roofs wide. :)

I get mine from a bloke that puts up farm buildings and buys coated tin sheets to mould into roofing sheets. i get cheap offcuts, he cuts them to size on the guilotine for me too.....they have a bit of weight to them too which helps keep them down..

companies who make their own profile sheets or generally work with sheet metal usually get the raw materials in big rolls protectively wrapped in - you've guessed it - coated sheeting which tjey discard, try to find someone locally and see if you can cadge the odd bit from their scrap bin
