Just had my first bash at cell punching, I followed the instructions on Dave Cushman's blog and with a piece of spare left over comb I managed it ok after a few goes.
I tried the. 75mm wall tube but found it would break many of the surrounding cells and was pretty hard to push/twist through without doing much damage.
The I tried slightly larger diameter tube of 10.00mm but this time with K&S modelling tube which has a much thinner wall section, .20mm and it punched much cleaner and took a nice razor sharpened edge.
I also found. 30.00mm length of tube was much easier to hold than the recommended 25.00mm version.
When you cut the tinner tube with a pipe cutter the cut crimps inwards and leaves a slightly narrower opening so when you plunge the piston to show the comb/plug, it holds things nice and firm.
