I have this plant growing in the back garden the bees and hover flies love it, but i don't know what it's called.

Good pictures, what were they taken with? Yes asters, this time of year and the colour probably one of the varieties called 'michaelmas daisies' - many are unnamed crosses found in cottage gardens over the years.
