Hi folks.
SWMBO put some squash into the Rayburn oven to roast BUT forgot it, so now we have an enameled baking tray with a lot of residue.

We've tried soda + boiling water and strong bleach + boiling water.
Any other ideas are welcome.

Rayburns etc. are great at getting the cooking fumes up the flue BUT you forget it's in there.

We've tried to find a 'I'm cooking magnet' but they appear to be not available.

We have an 'I'm cooking tile' which somebody forgets to use.

Tim. :thanks:

Try the oven cleaner that you get for grill trays. You put it in a bag with the gell and leave it. In half an hour wash it with water and it will be all sparkly!!!

Try putting it on the range with some cheap coca cola in it and bring to the boil. The phosphoric acid might shift it if you are lucky.

Digital kitchen timer, a simple countdown of whatever duration you set. Carry it around in your pocket or stick it on the fridge. Most useful kitchen gadget ever.

Or use the alarm clock on your mobile phone

Tut Tut Tut. Throw it way and get a new one I despair.

Clean it the best you can and continue to use it.

My gran and mum she still has had similar items for decades and scrubbed to within an inch of their lives on a regular basis but picked up similar stains over the years and looked wonderful.
