the cost of dna testing is related to the number of samples analysed. for example because of bse in catlle the goverment spent agreat deal of taxpayers money dna testing cattle. the result was that a huge date base was bulit up and now anyone can get their cattle tested very cheaply.
i am sure this is happening with bees, so hopefully the same will be true. i am assuming that the genetics of bees succumbing to verroa and colony collapse disorder will have been studied very closely particularly with the resistance of african bees being apparent.
