I had better explain what it is your looking at
Top is the thorax showing the 1st spiracles on either side of the thorax.
Next Aorta running along the exoskeleton of the bee. the ostia are not visable.
Then Ventriculus (stomach) with honey crop which was full of nectar.
thorax showing the flight muscles.
Finally wax mirrors.

And no i do not know how to put it all back together.

What do you use to kill the bees? I tend to use pure Acetone in a jar made up for the purpose with a bit of polyfilla on the bottom to soak up the Acetone. A nice effective killing jar. I have used 100% Iso on occasion as well. A nasty subject gentle readers BUT, the insects are killed quickly and humanely.

What do you use to kill the bees?
Nail varnish remover (acetone free type) has ethyl acetate which is the fluid entomological suppliers sell as insect killing fluid.

....or chloroform is another.
I find it very hard to source chloroform, and storage is difficult as it degrades to a poisonous gas.
It must be kept in brown coloured glass bottles, and with minimum air space.

I agree,it does turn into a poisonous gas in time, even if stored well, similar to what was used in WW1, but not hard to source it over here. Stratlabs sell it.
