Should the beesuit trousers be tucked inside the wellies or over the outside?

Myttin da

Gentlemen ( and Gentle-lasses) can we please stay on topic and not allow the usual disagreeable comments about how good tempered your particular chosen pure or cross of Apis mellifera is?

My own preference is to wear milking boots with metal toecaps, long socks and the beesuit trouser legs tucked in.
I can then scrub down the boots in disinfectant easily if I need to go and see the farmer in the high level hygiene sheds.

I wear a full beesuit*** because I have had the unfortunate and full on experience of anaphylaxis with both my wife and a close friend, now both undergoing desensitisation at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth.

*** nothing to do with bee aggression.... not with my own girls anyway!!

Have a safe beekeeping year

when the progeny are a bit nasty that the conclusion is that the nastiness comes from the imported or non local stock. Yeah right!
Now that I couldn't agree more with!
Currently struggling to understand why one of my Slovenian Carniolan queens is a bit tasty...the other is as expected but has decided to go on a brood break whilst the the cool weather moves through.... But defensive and following for a Carniolan colony...probably chose the wrong source! However they are still pussy cats compared to the local bees in my area and sample size of 2 is not a great indicator of the general characteristics of the strain.
