Blackpool Air Show

I took my little one to Blackpool last weekend. We took him on the donkeys and the donkey guy asked if we were down for the air show. we didn't even know it was on. What a result. It was between the South and Central piers, The battle of Britain Memorial Flight did a turn, and it ended with the Red Arrows doing their full display. It was amazing. Did anyone else go?

lol, an hour on the train....going to take all the kids next year.

WW2 stuff.

Not sure if any of my group went...There was talk but not sure what happened.

We have some members who have a lot of WW2 RAF kit and equipment.
Brit army, navy, womens land army, Germans etc. I dont go that far up your way, but we are going to Pickering NYM Rail event.
oh, and the Americans of course. Couple of Jeeps.

My mother, who lived in the town during the war, tells tales of going to dances in the nearby downland villages where they'd dance with the pilots - the alarm would go, and they'd scramble..... the dance would continue until some of them returned....

Sounds great. i must admit the BBMF brought a lump to my throat. Oh, i bought a spitfire bullet at the RAF stall

Wow Brosville! That was amazing. Is this event every year? If so, would you mind letting me know when it is on next. Did you have any speakers giving commentary about which plane was which? In Blackpool they did, and they played Red 1 giving his orders over the speaker when the Red Arrows were flying. I was blown away by it. I just wish I'd know so I could have emptied my memory card and charged the camera properly. Your pics are better than mine lol. The sun was dazzling the lens, so it was a case of pointing in the direction I thought the planes were. I got a couple of good shot though. Thanks for sharing that.
