I was just browsing through my tattered copy of Ted Hooper (may his name be blessed) and noticed that HE also advocated spacers under the cover board over winter!

I've just closed the trickle ventilators on my upstairs windows as they were making the house cold in the evenings with about the same area, and I give off a lot more heat than a cluster of bees.

I keep at least one window open per upstairs room all year, can't stand stuffy bedrooms without fresh air. (we have a woodburner to heat the downstairs lounge/diner)
