everybody was preferring the city honey to Hughs country honey and the young fella who owned the bees in Hackney was saying he gets 100pounds of honey from each hive every harvest and he harvests 3 times a year, he had 8/9 hives on a flat roof on top of his two story house,i was well impressed
Darren.

Til he breaks his young neck falling off the ladder. 30lb supers and some perfectly fit adults worry about taking a swarm down from half that height...

I didn't see it but your reply to me makes an assumption. He may not be going up the outside of the building to get to the hives. There may be access through the roof.

well if there is access from the inside he made Hugh climb up a double ladder in the programme,i think the lad was only keeping bees a few years so its all early stages, although am sure they have some easier way of getting the supers and all of his heavier bits and belongings up and down.

Not everybody.

There is a considerable amount of "artistic licence" in there programmes.

Not unusual for footage from one shoot to be used in another.... to get the "flow"

not forgetting some exaggeration to increase the WOW factor !

Pinch of Salt springs to mind?

That seems a very nice yearly harvest, for 8 hives. But that's a lot of honey to lower off a roof Lol.

rope... marvellous invention :)

should be able to lower off 200lb of supers at a time :)
straight on to a trolley

..

I wander what the lead and carbon monoxide content is in the Hackney honey??

When I pick blackberries I always collect them away from main roads (unlike alot of people I see).

I know which honey I would prefer to eat
