Bees and music

I have a Bluetooth speaker, I have been wanting to see how the bees would respond to music. So I took it out today and turned on some Tom Petty. They flew pretty heavy around the speaker, but only one bee landed on it. What's your thoughts or experiences with this?

Because when I am out checking on them I am going to want to possibly listen to music periodically, and I wanted to know (a) if they'd respond to it, and (b) if they did how they'd respond to it.

I suppose that native bees like classics like Elvis

And by so doing you will be crippling one of your principle tools. Your hearing.

A friend of mine, a BF has gone deaf and he bitterly regrets not being able to hear the bees as he says it tells you the temperament/condition as you lift the CB.

Listen to the music of the bees they will give you more than enough soul food if you learn to hear them that is.

You can learn a lot by the sound of the colony. I think it is the phobic in me that makes me really sensitive to changes in the pitch of the hum.

Like what? .. I know sound of swarm, and sound of attacking bee.....

Once a bee went into my ear tunnel. It said nothing.

Back when my queen was stolen, I opened the hive and their hum just sounded different. Something about it told me that something was quite wrong, even though they didn't show any signs of aggression and I hadn't got to the bb to notice a frame had gone. Other times when tagging along at Dusty's apiary, I can sometimes hear when we are getting close to the frame with the queen on. Last year when he let me look after them was another time I knew the inspection wasn't going to go well the minute I lifted the roof. Something just sounds different.
