Why do they always seem to have fancy titles nowadays? You could be mistaken for believing that an "Operational Delivery" specialist was a midwife!

They love the phrase 'operational delivery' which is an absolutely rubbish term and covers everything from customs officials to cleaners!!

competencies are something else again - look at the three they specify for the application form:
Delivering at pace
Making effective decisions
Seeing the big picture

You then have to find examples you can evidence (or at least bullsh!t) on your application. They might even specify different ones for the interview, or if they use the same ones, you have to show different example!!
The ones I had to evidence for the Africa posting was fun - can you imagine relating coping out in the wild and woolly bush in Uganda or Lesotho by using examples relating to the western isles of Scotland and Margate (or maybe you can :D)
Actually the one that raised a laugh had to do with communication with hostile natives - my example involved explaining to police marksmen that just because it was a spring tide in Plymouth sound - you didn't need a longer ladder to get from my rhib to the deck of the target vessel.
