Ok only joking.....The irony is the person who got it spot on was an Irish beekeeper, and according to some they dont import bees over there she’s and island mated buckfast from BFD(Keld) I just wanted to prove a point when some start going on about bee race/types based on colour. She also produced some lovely daughters last season and will again this year. Ian
.....Yes. I know Keld uses the two colour marking scheme for different lines but I wasn't sure if it was a trick question. Do other BF people use this sign?
Here's one for you: what nationality is this carnica?
Yes my Stöfen queen is quite dark as are about half her bees.Ok only joking.....The irony is the person who got it spot on was an Irish beekeeper, and according to some they dont import bees over there she’s and island mated buckfast from BFD(Keld) I just wanted to prove a point when some start going on about bee race/types based on colour. She also produced some lovely very dark daughters last season and will again this year. Ian
What point did you prove? We all know that buckfast these days are a very mixed bunch but I can't understand why colouration should not be an important criteria when talking about Amm. They are black bees after all, so colouration seems a pretty good starting point and indicator to me.Ok only joking.....The irony is the person who got it spot on was an Irish beekeeper, and according to some they dont import bees over there she’s and island mated buckfast from BFD(Keld) I just wanted to prove a point when some start going on about bee race/types based on colour.
