Looks a bit like some of the bootlace fungi, but I can't see how they'd end up in a hive.

Far too good for one of her creations.

I think it's a hive that was caught upside down near a fire ...heat melted the wax etc. dribbled down then the fire brigade arrived and cooled it down quickly.

They must be looking for a bee vandal arsonist somewhere !
