Along with traps and other counter-measures, I recently bought an electronic wasp zapper on a friends advice.

Works a treat and is very satisfying when they spark/flame.

Can completely concur with Sky Dragon. Gives a very satisfying 'crack' as the little varmint gets fried. Works even better if given a name, the electric fly killer in our house is affectionately known as Frank Zapper.
