Greetings from sunny spain,
managed to do an inspection of both hives at the weekend, and happy to report capped brood over four frames and even a few drones wandering around on the combs, even managed to rob a frame of honey so that's another kilo for our use, since the rains we had six weeks ago we now have lots of different flowers bursting with nectar and pollen.
adios.

great to hear things are going well for you - send a bit of the sunshine north please!

Greetings all,
25C, and the time is eleven thirty am,
its just my observation but I have noticed that our bees don't start to forage until the thermometer reaches 10 degrees, which is between 9,30 and 10am, they will stay out until about 4,30ish when the sun starts to go down,
on the odd cloudy day there are a lot less bees about, the longest spell we have had without seeing the sun is five days but that was seven years ago,
the last time we saw snow on the ground at our place was nine years ago,
Our latest jar of honey is very dark but quite similar to the last lot, I will ask Ruth to upload some photos in due course,
adios for now.

I would say pretty much the same here… A few bees will start to bring pollen at~ 8-8.5`C

I love Spain :) The longest spell we have had without seeing the rain is also the same approximately here in Sligo (Joking close to a truth :) )
