I thought you weren't supposed to put fondant over feed hole as it can cause isolation starvation? Just wondering, read lots on both methods over feedhole/across frames.

Using the feed holes works well for me and others. Of course folks have their own preferences between that and putting straight on top of frames - personally I don't believe its any more likely to encourage isolation than other methods, and its loads easier to check on levels and top up if necessary.
 
The rising heat from the cluster usually softens it enough to sag down through the feed hole onto the top bars to allow easy access to it .
