Of course beekeepers should have the choice of the strain/breed they prefer,and if they are that serious about the breeding/keeping to there own strain while sourounded by others,then they should use some method to control it like II.
What about the Isle of Man, Ynys Mon ( Anglesey ) or some Scottish Isles or even areas where native bees predominate ( bits of Wales, Scotland and Ireland and even Derbyshire ) and efforts are being made to preserve them ? Is it right to potentially scupper the majority's good work in these areas just to preserve freedom of choice for a few( selfish IMO ! ) beekeepers ?
maybe we live in a country governed by people in Westminster who do as much as possible to mollycodle bankers and money pushers arounders in the city while they dont give a stuff about country issues unless they bring in significant revenue or win/lose votes.
