No southern giant hornets have since been found in Europe beyond the four documented in Spain. They are native to various countries in Asia, including India, China, Thailand and Vietnam.

They grow on average to a two-metre length and are known for sending out hunting teams to search for prey colonies

The hunters rub their bodies against hives or nearby vegetation, sending out a signal so more hornets can join them.

They then enter a "slaughter phase" involving the elimination of entire beehives in just hours.

This is from an article in LBC. What size traps should we use ?

Surely not this big!!!!!!

Surely vegans wouldn't be able to eat hornet? I'm sure there'd be some decent size joints to be had from the thorax though, albeit a little tough.

Simmer gently all night, add herbs in the morning and simmer again until ready to serve as evening meal. Be prepared for unhappy diners.

Yes.
Any recipes you can suggest will be welcome 😉
Roast till crispy, break off the head and wings and chomp on the the thorax ... if they are anything like grasshoppers, locusts or cockroaches they are a bit nutty in flavour - you need a drink with them as they are a bit dry - personal experience - don't ask !

I’ve eaten a mopane worm
That must beat a bloomin grasshopper! 😂😂
I'll trump your mopane worm with my Wichetty grub and if that does not win the hand then I have my mum's brussel sprouts and her gravy up my sleeve !

Wichetty grub
When I was a kid - I BBQ'ed a wichetty grub with snags and onions. I think it was around the time Major Les Hiddins was on TV. When I was working in Thailand - they had street vendors selling fried insects of various kinds in little pick-n-mix plastic bags to kids. Local work colleagues suggested in jest I try - so I did. They were surprised a farang would even try. In the north of Thailand they catch & eat huntsman spiders - I drew the line at that.

You got to catch one of the buggers first!!!!!!

If they are THAT big, why waste their time on Bees.
We will be an excellent food source.
Seriously does no one proof read anymore, they just let AI do the job badly?
