Hi
In an attempt to head off more chocolates, I’m thinking about what bee related items I might want for Xmas...more books!
Any good books you’d recommend (probably got the most obvious)?

Here’s one from me, which I enjoyed recently. ‘Interviews with beekeepers’ by Steve Donohoe. Lots of good tips and insights with 8 different beekeepers around the world. Particularly enjoyed reading wisdom from Murray McGregor, Peter Little and David Kemp.
Picked up a few new tips that I tried this season. Peter’s reverse artificial swarm worked well.

Back to my original point - any good books you’d recommend to add to a Xmas wish list?
Thanks
Elaine

Tom's book from last year "The Lives of Bees".

Looks at how wild colonies are still thriving apparently.....

For a bit of Christmas fun try to get a copy of May Abbots 'Me and the Bee' published in the sixties it's long out of print but copies are out there. Its a very well written book which might well have been a blueprint for Bill Turnbull's book.

Ok..."The battles of a bumbling beekeeper" I see. Sounds like me at the moment.

Dancing with Bees, a journey back to nature by Brigit Strawbridge Howard. A lovely gentle read exploring hers and the bees relationship with nature.

Another interesting read: Oil and Honey by Bill McKibben. Not your classic bee book, it's a parallel look at McKibben's environmental stuff and his friend Kirk Webster's low impact beekeeping lifestyle.

Queenspotting, by Hilary Kearney. Beautiful pictures/photography. Lots easier to find the queen when the bees keep still though!
