Oh, it does fit. It will just look better when it's flush. :coolgleamA:

It's the oversight, should have come with a purpose built option from day one. All very well that they fit but a flippin nuisance to use, far too easy for it to move when replacing supers. I'm phasing out my paynes boxes or I'd have done something similar.
 
i had no problem with Italian crosses but I did have a problem with a Black mongrel colony that struggled to get through the plastic Queen excluders
Everytime i have used a metal wire excluder a fair few bees get stuck in it and die and i would think these bees would struggle to get through the plastic one i have here from THoxns , i guess i must have fat bees.
 
what hives do you have? maisies now make a bigger QX to fit theirs

As Swarm said, I prefer the wired, framed, excluders. My poly is a Maismore's. If they make a wired QX' i'll be a happy bunny. With the hive they provide a flat plastic attempt with no space at all. It's not strong enough for me to make a frame for. Too floppy. :D
