Hi All. A friend of mine is selling up and he is giving me his bees. Can we move them, this time of year, or leave it until the spring?

If they're clustering and not flying because of the low temperatures, any cold day from now onwards will be an ideal time to move them.
Do it early evening/dusk to be sure they're all at home.

If you are moving them a short distance, less than about three miles then try and do it in a spell when they may not be flying for a couple of weeks, anything more than three miles should be no problem.

No prob. They are in Norfolk and I am in West Sussex so I don't think they would want to fly back!! bee-smilliebee-smillie
