Our local (Shipston-on-Stour), independent hardware store sold us 5L to split between 5 of us. It's true that it's expensive - hence the development of so many "turps substitutes"

Just bought 500ml off ebay, £8.10p including postage.
Thrones have it but their postage is expensive.
You sometimes find art suppliers have stocks.

I get mine from C Wynne Jones at a very reasonable price, they also have tins, labels and carnuba wax.

A word of warning ....DO NOT buy this stuff from that link I gave to an e-bayer selling Rustins Pure Turpentine. I've just used some and there appears to be summat wrong with the stuff.........
Following my usual recipe with bees wax and Carnauba I ended up with a very runny very loose set. Unlike my usual nice hard polish set.
Initially I thought I'd might have mis-weighed the wax, so re-liquified and dissolved in some more bees wax....result a wrinkled soft set mush.....

Oh well that was £8 down the drain and some lost time. Hopefully this post might save a few of you from making the same mistake.
Caveat emptor
