They don't tell you .... that the day after you install your first purchased colony of bees in your hive, they can swarm big-time.
 
Nobody told me that there were still people who couldn't tell the difference between a bee and a wasp.
 
If you extract honey in the kitchen, every single cupboard door handle and drawer, plus the kettle, will still be sticky next day.
 
Honey doesn't make a sound as it pours out of the open gate on the extractor when you accidentally leave it open :)

My wife’s grandmother lives with us so we don’t need honey to make handles sticky ;)
