They could abscond, but, that's different to a swarm where they leave brood/bees/queen cells behind.

Honey doesn't make a sound as it pours out of the open gate on the extractor when you accidentally leave it open

My wife’s grandmother lives with us so we don’t need honey to make handles sticky
