caught my foot under a bramble runner concealed by the long grass . Bust my nose ( nearly broke it ) luckily no damage to super nor honey frames .

Loose hive strap caught me out a few years back. Supers weren't so lucky every frame broken as did each super.

Rescued a beautiful Bumblebee, gave it a syrup solution which made a huge difference.

We have a Collie who's main aim in life is to grab bumbles in flight, today he spotted probably the first this year on our heather outside the back door and thought whoopee. In Previous years he has stationed himself by a bumble nest under a shed and tried to catch every poor bumble in transit.
We now monitor his activity and try to curb his traits, that is shout at the big s**t to get in doors. He doesn't try for honeybees just bumbles. Are collies smarter than we think?
He seems to have not been stung by bumbles or the odd other bee he's caught.
Are thick collies immune to stings??

Our Cornish Collie Jess eats wasps.... never seems to get stung!

Gotta be a market for wasp eating Collies! How efficient is she? Can she cover more than one hive? :)

I do not think SWMBO will allow me to undertake a scheme to dominate the country with wasp eating Cornish Collies... banning imports of Rotweiler or Daschund wasp devourers!!!

In reality she just snacks out on them!

Got a Cocker spaniel puppy, someone else's unwanted Xmas present, had him a month. He is constantly trying to catch my honey bees. Waiting for the yelp and have the piriton ready.

I have a Mini Schnauzer puppy, who is now 6 months old. She investigated the hive in the garden last autumn and got stung once. We have built a fence around the hive so she can no longer investigate. However, the experience has given her a healthy respect for bees as she now avoids them.

Lovely. A late friend of mine had a black Cocker Spaniel, his name was Joe.

Son's gf has a boxer. Likes to rush around hives and try to catch bees .. until threee stings at once, one in a very delicate part of her anatomy ..Now does not chase bees..
Who says boxers are stupid?

Mine eats hundreds of bees every day, but quickly learned not to take the mickyin front of hives.
Gets stung occasionally but it just makes her chew the next bee faster.
Stings don't bother her in the mouth , she just rubs her face on the floor once and carries on.
