Nah she'll never buy it. My 4 month old on the other hand... I'm playing the long game with her. Making up frames will be as normal as brushing her teeth or feeding the chickens.

What's that? You want your pocket money? Get up to 600 frames and we can talk £££

Have you signed her up for the BFA apprenticeship scheme yet ?

Saving that for her first birthday. Such a lucky girl.

I have 10 brood frames and foundation to put together tomorrow.. my head hurts thinking about it..
Hi Steve. I have a Super to build plus frames and when I get it, another full hive. fingers crossed that if your gift colony survives the winter, I want another one next year. it's torture not knowing if I have done enough for them. I have treat them for Varroa, they have the insulation in the roof you provided and the BB is very heavy with stores.

Where do the 66 pins go in each frame?

Diagram please. I have clearly been doing it wrong.

:laughing-smiley-004:laughing-smiley-004:laughing-smiley-004:... it is me who is doing it wrong... i don't feel to bad now i have worked it out again 1080... a nail gun would still be nice though..;)

a calculator might be better - 1080 leaves you two short in every frame

Thanks lal5000

Pleased you made this thread... and very pleased with the Makita.. a good investment.

Hi Millet, any chance you could describe your frames, p'raps with a diagram of how many and where the pins/nails go ? I find it difficult to put more than 11 nails in a frame so my 120 frames take, um, (plus a few bent ones) 1320 odd nails.
Wonder if Cornish ones are different to them in other parts of the UK? P'raps the maths are different?
Anyone else 'elp yer? 7000 odd?

Sorry Millet the other replies came up while I was typing. My excuse is I can drive nails faster than I can type.

Possibly an extra digit?

lal5000 was describing fixing with 2 pins per joint at top bar and presumably one in each bottom bar... and three to the top bar wax holder inner bit?
11 pins

Yeghes da

Same as mine Cheers except that this end of the county we call the top bar inner bit a "wedge". Thanks anyway for the clear explanation.
Do you drive the pins in the wedge horizontally, vertically or at an angle(say 45 degreeish)?

Glad you are liking it. It certainly makes making up frames less of a chore.

The fact its cordless with no need for a compressor is definitely a bonus.
