I stood next to a hive today and it’s hard to describe the sounds that we’re coming from it…anyone know what causes this? Not my hive so I couldn’t open it up for a look

One of mine did this a few months ago. Went in and found swarm cells. One was capped but the queen was still present. I'm sure its not connected but it was the only change.

I wondered if they were telling each other that they were going to swarm very soon.

tonights noise was mainly a load thumping (from the queen?) and what sounded like rain falling on a window ( thousands of little feet ?)

I have this in one of my hives all the time, all season, i’ve never figured it out. Always think it’s something drone related, be good to know if anyone knows for sure!
