Hello, I have just taken on a colony and put it into my new hive. I left the hive for two weeks over Easter and it has a substantial wax moth infestation. The colony is strong. Would appreciate some advice on a way forward. Thank you.

I had the same a month ago. I cut out the bad grubs and replaced and frames which were very bad I removed completely. Adjusted frame order to make sure that that brood was central.

If the hive is strong the bees will sort out the rest. You will see grubs that have been chucked out the entrance which is a good sign they are sorting. These get less and less over the days.

Make sure your hive construction does not have big gaps. And check your supers for infestation before you add them.

Make sure any equipment is not stored with your own equipment without a thorough clean. One good infestation in your super store can cost time and money.
