Will thymol/hive alive in the syrup put the queen off lay at all?

Right then... I might mix up this hive alive again then, but this time without the additional apiguard treatment and hope for the best that I don't get drowned bees again!

I was hoping to increase laying if anything! I still have the feed I took off. I'm thinking to try and make it even thicker syrup/sugar wise, but increase the amount so as to dilute the hive alive that's already in it. Good idea?

Drowned bees is a horrible thing to find... even if it's just 10 or 20

I was hoping to increase laying if anything!

The laying in autumn usually increases when they can forage an abundance of pollen from the ivy, don't clog up too much empty comb space with syrup feed.

I had a look at my hive last night and the bees have taken down half of the rapid feeder syrup (2:1 mix with added Hive Alive).
I couldn't see the feeding cone because of the amount of bees! I left the drowned bees in the syrup and the other bees are using them as floats. So even in death they are still doing a job.
Just leave them and they will find it and feed.

Hmm yes... I thought so... cell bound or honey bound or whatever it is called. They still need to be drawing comb though (or building free comb in foundationless hive), and I feel they need feed to get building to give them as much comb as possible for winter storage and autumn brood rearing.

I kind of thought that it will eventually get too cold for comb building and so it's now or never, especially as this week is mostly rain until the weekend.

I've just mixed up a super thick syrup... give them a couple of litres each?? Or chuck it away :(

And also if I need the queen to be laying as much as possible, when/how should I go about some kind of varroa treatment since Apiguard now, and therefore a few weeks off laying, seems like a pretty bad idea?!
