I have aways believed, as told, Wax Moth only attack frames that have contained brood.
So never treated supers just store with mesh floor top and bottom of stack. Brood frames would get a treating of sulphur or go in freezer for 3 days.

How do you treat with acetic acid ?

I have shallow saucers .I place 4 supers in a large Black plastic bag (not bin liners, too thin ).
I place a saucer on top of frames in top super , it place a mini eke around 9" x9" around saucer ,pour acid into the saucer, approx 50 mil.
The bag is then tied to keep rain out and fumes in. The black bags heat up even in Winter sun and as the acid fumes are heavier than air, they percolate down though the super effectively sterilising the lot.
I check from time to time ,when all acid has evaporated ,I remove from bags and stack in apiary , bee tight but well ventilated until required .
Takes longer to describe than do:)

sounds almost too easy, and too cheap! A stack per hive in each apiary is easy to manage and don't need to worry about storage.

Is it fast acting? I have seen wax moth larvae in a couple of super frames, or should they be treated first?

is 80% with Ethanoic Acid ok to use?
