Been a funny year this one ...

I had a couple of big hives that were going great ... then post demaree went backwards ....and so they are now building up (as requeened) but I took the supers out of storage as I need space in the shed and put them on the hive.

Is that a mistake .... having too many (wet empty supers) on the stack when the colony isnt really ready for them ?

They won't remain wet as they will collect the honey and start storing it. The problem is they will probably funnel any stores up the middle of all the boxes. So you will get ripe honey in the middle and nectar down the edges of all boxes. Means you need to do some sorting before spinning

If you just wanted them cleaned out you could have put them under the brood with a 9mm lath to give an undefended entrance... depends if you have help in lifting!
