Hi Guys

simple Question really... is it too late to hive a NUC?

I would be giving them 5 frames of undrawn foundation.

No, not too late....if it is big enough to need re-housing give them 2/3 frames at a time, dummied down and stick a rapid feeder on top.

You can even put insulation inserts inside the brood box on either side of the brood nest. Just cut kingspan down to size to fit in. Gaffa tape the soft parts of the insulation to prevent chewing. Obviously need to remove the unused frames. When the warm weather comes in spring, remove the insulation inserts and replace the frames. This is assuming the colony is still nuc sized going into winter.
