The hives are not destroyed. The bees, brood and queen do not die (place one queen in nuc). Two become one. One big one will get you much honey.

Our main yield is in July. When main yield starts and swarming period is over, I join smaller hives to 6 langstroth box colonies.
Some do by themselves 8 boxes bees.

Our bees start brooding at the beginning of May, when willows starts to give pollen. Apple blooms at the beginning of June.
