If your ventilating the hive involves placing matchsticks under the roof then take care not to strike the matches anywhere near the isopropyl alcohol...
I use spent matchsticks the long cook match sticks
 
If you're on solid floors and your matchsticks are between the floor and the brood box then that's OK but re-queening with an unrelated one might work better.
Matchsticks anywhere else? :eek:

It’s the chalkbrood that’s been bothering the one hive..
But all advice gratefully appreciated
 
If it’s only the one colony and others with it are unaffected then just get a mated queen quickly and re queen
The colony has really shrunk with heaps of drones so worker ratio low.
