On the basis of this thread, I conclude there is a 100% correlation between the price of honey and the price of houses

No, dpearce is getting the most and lives in W Sussex.

not at all. there may be some expensive houses down here but most are in the £200k mark for 3beds some of the highest number of free school dinners are down in this area outside of London. my wifes school which is in haywards heath has 30% unemployed parents and paradoxically the station also sells the most first class season tickets in the uk, go figure that.

 detached with double garage, large garden and all bedrooms en suite I hope, and maybe a paddock for the horses?

if only jbm lol mind you forget the horse paddock, don't want to be accused of killing a horse with my bees.

Thanks, HM, but this was not showing when I posted or I'd not have asked such a daft question.

It has been there all along since yesterday. You did not ask a daft question, you just never read all the posts in the thread before asking.

Dpearce posted the answer to others yesterday in post seven at 9.23pm, you posted this morning at 8.31am, post ten, asking the question...perhaps a trip to an optician:paparazzi:

The price of honey should be judged on flavour

Wife and I don't eat the stuff - too sweet - so we leave it to others to judge and judging by the knocks on the front door, they have good judgement in abundance which is why I never have enough. Give loads away too - but then that's what family is all about.

We struggle to get £3.50 down here, there must be too many tight people with big houses here :spy:, plus we have another bee farmer round the corner that sells for £2.00 we will concentrate on selling in bulk this year.

I sell honey over here in the US for $7 a pint and $14 a quart .

You must have loads of opportunities for farmer's markets and fairs on the south coast, Chris. Chance to get a few more tourists separated from their hard earned in exchange for a quality product?

So, a US pint is 473ml and a US quart twice that, correct?

The imperial measurements are quite different –-568ml for a pint and a quart is HALF a gallon, so four pints instead of two (US).

So, your honey looks a good bit cheaper than mine, but similar to Chris's on the south coast.

same price here as you:iagree:

I sell at £5 per lb in my area, from my door, B&B's, shows, talks. I wont sell for less.

I tell them if they want cheaper 'go get the mixed stuff from the supermarket, and hope no Chinese honey in it'. Works every time. Truth is always the best policy. :p

If in a holiday area, maybe 'give' one jar to the local B&B's to show their guests what is available ... your address on the jar. I now have a regular buyer from that one.

A quart is a quarter of a gallon or two pints.
